I know they are not lyrics exactly, but there are enough spoken words to get me wondering. The Veil is pretty clear, but others don't sound much like English, so I hear what I hear and make up my own words. Can you remember what is being said, was it ever written down?
You have got me going down a rabbit hole now :-)
Mmmm that’s a good one! I think first you need to tell me what words you hear... could be a laugh! 😁
oh boy not sure that is a good idea 🙂 it would likely end up something like this 😂
Hi Jimmy, I just realised I never got back you about the lyrics 🤭 On Underwater dub, the vocals are ‘music and roots get together’ and later, ‘guys you know, music is music’ The chants are used more for the texture than what they say which is to say I’ve no idea what they’re saying even though they’re mostly me and Daniel doing them, probably channeling some kind of universal language!! 😂 we usually added them when we had run out of synth sounds and needed a human element. Hope that was worth waiting a year for 😬☺️✌️
Brilliant - thanks very much, I never would have guessed those were the words. I thought I heard the word "yesterday" but turns out it was "get together" I wondered for 25 years, so an extra year is small time to wait. If you have any other tit bits of insight like this, it would be fun for us listeners. Cheers
Check out this article on Backseat Mafia - Lots of insight about each track on the album! 👍
Haha! Hilarious! Reminds of this old advert: 😂
I picked up the CD in LA in 96 on a whim. I figured with such a great name and artwork, that it had to be good. The album has been an all-time favorite of mine ever since. I remember how floored I was to eventually come across Gibran in my later years and have these lyrics smack me in the face! Mad props on a true timeless gem!
Thank you Gary, glad it still gets a listen! I’ve gone back to the Prophet a few times in my life - it definitely provided a few gems of wisdom! 😇
